Message I was going to put off upgrading my clutch/shifter to spring, but with some of the great Christmas specials going on right now I thought I would start aquiring some new parts. :)

My goals: I want a very smooth, streetable shifting and driving with good reliability as well.

Plans: Upgrading clutch fork, solid shifter mount, rebuilding stock shifter, bronze bushings, new flywheel/clutch, nismo T/O bearing, possibly new driveline.

I'm leaning towards the RPS segmented flywheel, though JWT and Fidanza's look promising as well.

I want a streetable clutch that can still hold back some power. I'm only a little above stock power levels now, but plan on chipping my ECU soon and upping the boost, soon to be followed by bigger injectors, so I want something that will hold up then too. Is the RPS 6 puck for me or will the SZ sport street be a better choice? I'm also looking at the Southbend DXD Rally Street from Zspeedperformance.

On the shifter...I remember a post where Ash explains that short shifters are harder on a transmissions synchro gears, but I really want a smooth great feeling shift, so will rebuilding my OEM (and adding the above mentioned goodies) be enough for me, or will I be happier with a Z1 short shifter/woody modified? My driving style would best be described as "spirited" or "enthusiastic" :D

Driveline options: Since I suffer from the "As long as I'm in there" curse, I'm looking at upgrading the driveline to a one-piece unit. Should I go with a steel or aluminum driveline? The aluminum sounds great to me, but Im afraid of excessive vibrations and potentional durability issues (since aluminum is so much softer than steel). Or will I be better off just rebuilding the stock driveline?

Transmission mount: Upgrade to Nismo or replace OEM? Seems Nismo is stronger but adds a small bit of vibration, which I'm trying to avoid, but I also don't want a mount that's too weak for my proposed power levels, will replacing the OEM mount last as long as my clutch?

And finally, since I'm going to have my transmission off, I'll be replacing the rear main seal, but are there any other upgrades/maintenance/deletes that I should perform while I'm in there? I'd like to get as much as possible knocked out while I'm there.

I know it's a long post and I ask lots of questions, but thanks for reading and the help I know I'm going to get. I just don't want to miss anything and want high quality parts that will give me maximum driving enjoyment. But if you think this is a long post, wait until I start planning my suspension upgrade, but will probably save that one until next year :D
